We are Ignacia and Muriel. We partnered in 2020 during COVID period, where we decided to join forces, experience and interests to offer translation services in order to make your work or project easier and more efficient. Our goal is to impregnate the text with its correct terms and context. Adapted to different cultures and languages, or local references.
Ignacia Jiménez “Nacha”
I studied Tourism and have worked in the industry for 15 years. During this journey, I have gained experience in hotels, hospitality, restaurants and tour operators. I learned English at an early age, and I have improved it by living and working in places where English was the first language, even here in Chile, where I have specialized in Inbound Tourism, keeping constant contact with clients (Tour Operators, tourists and explorers) from all over the world. I have developed content on various tourist destinations, services descriptions and itineraries. In addition to translation contributions for small companies and consultancy. I believe that language is essential to be able to sell your product or service to people or companies who do not speak your language.
Muriel Riquelme “Muri”
I am a filmmaker by profession. It was precisely at that stage that I discovered the tremendous tool I had on hand. I started translating short films to be able to participate in international festivals, then the graduation feature film, then lectures, papers, thesis, etc. Translating stories was what got me hooked, but then it evolved into all kinds of narratives and situations. I began to expand the universes of translation and life. Living 3 years in English speaking countries I nurtured this tool even more, being able to make it grow with the associated cultural knowledge. From the beginning, 13 years have passed and thanks to this I have learned about so many different topics: Architecture, Agriculture, Anthropology, Music, etc. Each piece of work that I translate is a window to a different world and to the people behind them, who trust in your ability to capture its essence and translate it, with the respect it deserves.
We have experience in: papers and academic documents, manuals, brochures, web content, conferences, festivals and events, audiovisual material and translations focused on tourism, hotels, and hospitality.
We seek to collaborate with our translations with people, NGO’s or companies linked to conservation – preservation of the Environment, Education and Social matters, since we want MUNA to play an active role supporting initiatives that have a positive impact on society.
